One of the most common causes of musculoskeletal problem stems from individuals using computers. We can assist with a display screen equipment assessment.
Musculoskeletal system disorders are a recognised problem in the workplace due to tasks which involve activities such as repetitive and forceful exertions, awkward work positions, frequent heavy or overhead lifting, high speed work, prolonged static posture, poor manual handling techniques or the use of vibrating equipment. These disorders impact on sickness absence with employees experiencing back, neck, shoulder and upper limb repetitive strain problems.
We are able to advise on aspects of ergonomics and participate in the development of strategies to prevent these problems from occurring. These can range from workstation or workplace assessments, producing a full ergonomics report with findings and recommendations to management.
One of the most common causes of musculoskeletal problems stems from individuals using computers, whether in an office or call centre environment. A Display Screen Equipment (DSE) assessment in these cases is usually advisable and in compliance with Health and Safety Regulations.
We will assess whether the individual has any pre-exisitng or specific medical conditions first, and advise accordingly, with recommendations for any specialist equipment if necessary.
