Sickness Absence

The Confederation of British Industry (CBI) have stated that sickness absence costs to employers in the UK are a major concern. On average 11 days are lost each year costing £522 per employee; totalling approximately £13 billion per annum.

Small wonder then that small businesses find it hard to cope. Sickness absence affects everyone in the workplace leading to disruption, loss of productivity, reduced profits and low staff morale from covering and doubling up on workloads/shifts.

Research has shown that early intervention using Occupational Health can help by offering sound medical advice and guidance in an effort to safely rehabilitate the individual back to the workplace.

At Occupational Health Advice we offer either a telephone consultationor face-to-face appointment based on the employee’s requirements, and management will receive a report from this assessment. Our advice can include likely return back to work timescales, or involve phased return programmes with any suitable/appropriate adjustments, or in other relevant cases advice on ill health retirement, all of which can provide rapid results.
